School Assemblies

As the Dean of Students, I have the privilege of connecting with all of our students and their families. So planning our school-wide assemblies is a true delight as they all get to connect with one another.

These events are designed to foster community. Students, teachers, and the leadership team all come together to engage in meaningful collaboration. We play games and engage in friendly competition, celebrate what’s happening at PacPrep, and preview events and activities. For example, during our school-wide assembly in February 2023, we launched our spring book clubs where we announced upcoming visits from each of the respective groups' authors. Similar to bringing Suma Subramaniam to speak (see below), we invite guests of various professions to come and share about who they are and what they’re passionate about, further inviting our students into learning about the world around them.

WORLD READ ALOUD DAY | February 1st, 2023

A screenshot of Suma’s presentation.

Our last event was on February 1st, 2023 as we celebrated World Read Aloud Day. We welcomed Suma Subramaniam to share about her journey toward becoming an author. She read aloud Namaste Is a Greeting, and invited us to understand more about language and the importance of culture. She offered time for participants to ask their questions, which gave students an opportunity to connect about the writing process and how her books came to be published.
