Top Five Reasons Families Choose Pacific Preparatory

Families often come to Pacific Preparatory for individualized learning opportunities.

Typically, families come to Pacific Preparatory because they are seeking something a little different. Often, they don’t know exactly what sort of change they want to make, but they know they want to make a change.

As Admissions Director, my absolute favorite thing is speaking with parents about all the different ways our school can help their children thrive. These initial conversations with families are vital to our enrollment process because I learn more about the student’s specific academic goals, learning style or potential challenges.

Each family has unique reasons for considering Pacific Preparatory and it is my job to understand that rationale and thoughtfully construct a program to help their children soar. Based on all of the thoughtful conversations I have had with families over the years, these are the top five reasons families choose Pacific Preparatory time and again:

1. Individualization

Our school does not follow a “one size fits all” model. Instead, we provide each student with an individualized learning plan, custom-designed curriculum, and thoughtfully paired teachers. Our students benefit from courses that are tailored to their interests, goals, and learning styles. Everything is curated, from the books we select to how our teachers approach the math curriculum. Every student will reach their own learning milestones according to their own path.

Classes are individualized to meet the needs of each student.

2. Flexibility

The true beauty of our programming is that there is so much flexibility. This is particularly true for scheduling classes. Perhaps your child is a star athlete with an intensive practice schedule in the afternoons and needs class time to conclude by early afternoon. Or perhaps your child works best in the afternoon, so wants to complete all their schoolwork between 2-5 p.m. At Pacific Preparatory, we can make that happen. We also have rolling admissions, so students can apply and attend anytime throughout the school year.

3. Accreditation

Families also come to Pacific Preparatory because we offer accredited courses. A student can enroll full-time, meaning we are the main school of record. Alternatively, students can enroll part-time if they need a single course for credit (which is a particularly popular option for high schoolers).

Many families come to Pacific Preparatory for our accredited coursework.

4. Enrichment

Often families will enroll in a single course to enrich their child’s academic growth. This could mean a remediation course for students who are struggling or feeling behind in a particular subject area or it could mean a course that takes a deep dive into a topic of interest, unlocking their passions in new ways. Our enrichment courses offer a boost in understanding with the added bonus of increased self-confidence. Students meet one-on-one with a teacher who can help fill learning gaps.

5. Traveling Families

We also work with students whose families have a traveling lifestyle. In this case, our school travels with you. With our online programming, students meet virtually with the same teachers all year long. We help coordinate schedules with families and teachers to make sure students don’t miss a beat throughout the school year (even with those pesky time zone changes). This is a great option for families who are on the go but need a reliable and consistent schooling program.
