Celebrating our Students with a Fall Showcase

At the end of the fall semester, our community came together to celebrate all our students’ hard work in our first ever Fall Showcase. We created a virtual bulletin board highlighting particular projects and allowing other students, families, teachers and administrators to leave comments. Students were thrilled to see what their peers have been up to!

In a traditional school building, a glimpse along the walls lining the hallways would give you a snapshot of what was happening inside the classrooms. Here at PacPrep, students are also working hard in every subject, completing projects worthy of bulletin board status. With students learning one-on-one from the comfort of home, however, we decided to get creative so they could show off their hard work within our student community. A virtual bulletin board, which we called Student Showcase, includes submissions from our students across grade bands, subjects, and mediums. Families were invited to view all the projects and leave comments for one another, really contributing to our strong sense of community and pride.

One of our 12th graders wrote and visualized a Haiku poem based on a Japanese history unit, including historical elements from the more traditional Tokugawa period and the modern Meiji Era.

Feedback came from other teachers and parents too! This is a sampling of comments about one of our 7th graders’ essays comparing two literary works.

PacPrep administrators couldn’t resist checking out all the students’ work and offering their thoughts. This 4th grader got some great feedback about her original narrative piece, “The Boba Shop Crime.”

The Fall Student Showcase was a resounding success. Stay tuned for another glimpse into our brilliant students’ work at the end of the spring semester!
